Something Is Being Written in the Fire

A First Look at Faith Through Fire: The Long Road Back to Myself

Some books begin as ideas.

Others begin as something that has waited a very long time to be given words.

Faith Through Fire: The Long Road Back to Myself is currently being written.

It is a memoir, but it is also something I have approached with tremendous care. Its pages reach into a story that spans years—a story of survival, motherhood, faith, loss, discernment, identity, and the long, often complicated road of finding your way back to yourself.

This is not a story I wanted to tell simply because difficult things happened.

I am writing it because of what remained afterward.

Because there are experiences that alter the landscape of a life. There are seasons when truth becomes difficult to recognize, when survival becomes quieter than anyone around you realizes, and when continuing forward requires a kind of faith you may not even know you possess.

And sometimes, years later, you can finally turn around and see the road.

That is where this book began.

At the heart of Faith Through Fire is a dream I had when I was twenty-eight years old—one I could not fully understand at the time. As the years unfolded, pieces of its symbolism would take on meaning I could never have anticipated.

That dream became one of the threads running through this memoir.

But this book is not being written from the fire.

It is being written from the other side of enough of it to finally see.

There are parts of this story that are painful. There are parts that are difficult to explain. There are also moments of love, motherhood, endurance, faith, unexpected clarity, and the strange grace of discovering that something intended to diminish you did not get the final word.

I have no intention of rushing this book.

Some stories deserve more than simply being told. They deserve to be handled carefully, truthfully, and with respect for the lives contained within them.

So for now, this is simply an introduction.

A small opening of the door.

A glimpse at something being built quietly behind the scenes at Splendid Candor.

Faith Through Fire: The Long Road Back to Myself is in the works and is not yet available for purchase.

As the manuscript develops, I will share occasional glimpses here—pieces of its creation, the meaning behind some of its symbolism, and milestones along the road toward publication.

Until then, the pages are still being written.

And the story is finding its way home.
